Let’s be honest, right now the point of an AI that sounds like a human is to deceive humans into thinking that they are talking with another human, nothing else.
Why do we need an AI that when it’s speaking says “uhm” and mumbles? Even though it doesn’t need to.
What’s the point of allowing heartless entities handle interactions as if they are human?
I believe it would be actually cheaper to skip all the work dedicated to make AI human-like, and rather just focus on making it useful.
I know it might not all be for a nefarious cause, but seeing how some of these AI companies act makes me feel that this effort on humanizing AI is for the worst.
The fact that people has already killed themselves because of their interactions with AI should be a trigger to ban it from sounding like a human, but it feels like the argument so far is along the lines of “well they were dumb so it’s their fault and they had mental health problems” and that’s it.
Is sad that all I can do is sound like Luddite to express my annoyance towards this push for dystopian tech.
Rant over.
